Becoming: Complete
Before I found Christ, I searched for "fullness" in food, in media, and in work. I didn't know what or Who I didn't know. Actors, models, and talent for Christ have a "show and tell" mission!
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV)
Like the greatest Servant Who ever lived, Jesus worked for God until He finished.
Like the greatest story ever written, our world moves toward its grand finale.
Like the greatest creation ever made, each man works toward his own finale: ‘completion, conclusion, fulfillment’ (Random House Dictionary).
BECOMING complete is programmed in us.
Without Jesus and His Holy Spirit, the God-shaped hole in our hearts makes us feel chronically incomplete. (Babies feel it acutely after birth. They mourn their “disconnected” emptiness.)
The Word shows how it started, because God… ‘Set eternity in the human heart’ (Ecclesiastes 3:11), so without His Presence, we feel empty.
We CRAVE fullness, but without knowing God… fullness of life remains a mystery. We spend years and tears, trying to solve it. That being said...
No amount of money can fill a heart. No amount of power keeps it running.
The fame that woos us becomes our master.
The fun that thrills us is a fleeting flash.
The perks that please us soon lose their luster.
The highs that daze us turn us into slaves.
The foods that taste good leave us so quickly.
Those who love us help, but they aren’t enough.
Only our Father fully completes us, and His Spirit is our heart’s missing Part. Jesus is ‘The Finisher of our faith’ (Hebrews 12:2).
‘I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly’ (John 10:10).
But don’t confuse the abundance of Christ with anything the world tries to sell you.
Confusing God’s Word is the devil’s game. Finishing well is your Great Commission!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
When God filled your heart, your real work began. It’s called The Great Commission, and its completion is why you were born.*
Thankfully, it’s a collaboration! ‘He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it’ (Philippians 1:6).
You’ve been gifted and equipped to work on an aerial highway called media. Therefore, rise in the strength of His witness.
Becoming: Complete (Part 12)
* ‘Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age’ ’ (Matthew 28:18-20).
* ‘And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned’ ’ (Mark 16:15-16).
* ‘Then He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things’ ’ (Luke 24:46-48).
* ‘’So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you’ ’(John 20:21).
